Late Sri Chitturi Subba Rao Founder Secretary & Correspondent Sri Venkata Krishna Educational Society 1951-2021

 

    Sri. CHITTURI SUBBA RAO was born to Sri. Chitturi Venkata Krishna Rao andSmt. Akkayamma in a traditional agricultural family in a small town called Tanuku, west Godavari District Andhra Pradesh on 26th March 1951. Honing the inbuilt values of hard work, social reach, traditionality, and humble lifestyle, and humility he was brought up in a close-knit family system, but with a broader social outlook, social access, community relationships, and understanding of the common man’s life and challenges of the poor and the rural people. He had his primary and secondary education in the Government zilla parishad schools in his native place Tanuku and this helped to cultivate the understanding of the fundamentals of the ground-level social life and fostered sustained connectivity with the cross-section of the society with a comprehension of the challenges of the life of the downtrodden sections of the society. Hegraduatedwitha Bachelorof Commerce (B. Com) from the Government Arts College, Rajahmundry in the year 1973. With his love for Agriculture, cultivation, and rural life, He turned to focus on agriculture in his native place.
     He married Satya Usha Rani and was blessed with a Son, named after his beloved father Venkata Krishna Rao, and a daughter Subhashini.

     In due course of time, as an entrepreneur and industrialist, He occupied different positions as Director, N.C.L. Industries Ltd., Managing Director, N.C.L. Nirman Ltd., Hyderabad. Executive Director, Liquors India Ltd., and on the social front and community connectivity he served as President of Rotaract and as President and Secretary of Rotary Club, Tanuku. Hailing from an agricultural family, he had the opportunity to serve the farming community as the President of the Farmers’ Association of the region.

     He is the Founder and Managing Director of Sri Bala Balaji Textiles Ltd., a cotton spinning mill with a spindle capacity of 40,000 in Tanuku. He is thefounder, Secretary,and correspondent of Sri Venkata Krishna Educational Society which was established in the name of his father late Sri. Venkata Krishna Rao in the year 1982 under which four colleges as a group of institutions were floated in the memory of his sister, the late Smt. Kondepati Sarojini Deviexpired at an early age and could run successfully with value-based education and service motto. The group of institutions under the society include S.K.S.D. Mahila Kalasala (Junior) initiated in 1982, S.K.S.D. Mahila Kalasala (Degree & PG) started in 1982, S.D. College of Information Technology in 2001 with M.C.A and M.B.A Professional Courses, S.D. College of D. Ed(Diploma in Education) in 2011 and VIVEKANANDA GLOBAL SCHOOL[CBSE]in 2017. he also served as a member of, the Central Cotton Yarn Advisory Board Associated with the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. And was acting as President, of the West Godavari District Badminton Association affiliated to A.P. State Badminton Association and as president of Forum Against Corruption Today (FACT) to sensitize against corruption in the Political, Administrative, and Local Spheres of public life with the involvement of the student community and the rural youth.

     Though served in different positions in diverse fields, his focus and cherished area of interest and the pursuit of unending pleasure waswomen’s education, empowerment, and service with a humanitarian outlook. Therefore, he left no stone unturned to enrich the infrastructure and requisite facilities needed, from time to time, for the promotion of education and empowerment of girl students in the dimensions of physical, social, economic emotional, and value orientation. In this regard, besides the provision of fully equipped modern laboratories, a digital library, state of the art e-seminar hall, well-furnishedwelfare-oriented hostels for SC, ST, and BC girl students., An Indoor Stadium with International standards at a cost of Rupees 1.50 Crores with Shuttle Badminton Courts at Global standards, a Serene Yoga Training Centre, and a Modern Equipped Multi Gymnasium.

    The career guidance cell and the campus-basedcounsellingcentres initiated at his instance in the college premises continuously work in this direction of student placements. And the fruits of these efforts could be well reaped in the form of an increasing number of placements across the noted IT, Pharma, and other entities of Repute. In association with the International Shuttle Badminton Legend Sri.Padma Bhushan Pullela Gopichand an Academy christened as Sri Chitturi Subbarao Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy was established in the institutional premises for the convenience of the talented and aspiring girl students to satiate their sports spirit through coaching and training camps. Besides serving the students on the campus the Badminton Academy provides for Free and subsidized coaching and training camps to the aspiring children in the game from across the State. It is a continuous activity with the provision of both Lodging and Boarding facilities to children in the age group of 6 to 15 years besides the stop-gap educational support in the local schools.

     To provide succour to the Aged, He initiated the establishment of an old age home – Sandhya Jyothi Home for the Aged- with his mother Smt. Chitturi Akkayamma is the chief donor. In the service of humanity for helping and sponsoring the poor and needy students for their higher education, he established Chitturi Humanitarian Foundation since 2007.

     Through the foundation with financial assistance and emotional support, poor students like Mr. K. Naga Naresh and Mr. Konda Babu could continue their studies in crisis and adorn high positions in life. He wished to build the edifice of his life with more and more milestones of social activism, promotion of education and sports, empowerment of women with skills, careers, and value base to ensure a pleasant life, society with peace and in turn the Nation with prosperity.
